Highlanders Wrap Up The Semester & Head Into Christmas Break With Great Momentum

With no competitions during the week because of final exams, many of our teams will focus their efforts on producing in the classroom before returning to action this weekend. Come out and support the Varsity Basketball teams and Wrestling team this weekend before they head into the break!

The Bowling teams opened their season with a scrimmage against defending champion Cardinal Newman.

The Varsity and MS wrestlers hosted Camden Military and Ben Lippen in a tri-match last Wednesday in the Lower Gym. The Middle School athletes opened and collected wins in every match! The Varsity competed very well on the mat with CMA, as Jake Clarkson, Harrison Boorda, Henry Kimbrough, Reagan Olsen, and Jackson Avery all collected wins, though the Spartans earned enough wins via forfeit for a 42-40 win. In the nightcap, the Highlanders took on SCISA’s #1 ranked team in Ben Lippen, and captured the 45-30 win with victories from Clarkson, Myles Roberts, Boorda, and Kimbrough! The team competed at the Blue Devil Invitational over the weekend, and will compete at Lugoff-Elgin this coming weekend.

The Varsity Basketball teams will host the annual Home Pest Control Classic this weekend. The Varsity Girls will look for their first win of 2016, while the Boys carry a 4-2 record into the weekend. The Boys will tipoff at 6PM, while the Girls will play the nightcap at 7:30PM.
